The Importance of Water Resource
Nearly 75 percent of the earth’s surface is covered with water, but only a little part of fresh water can be used. With the population explosion and the rapid economic growth, a large part of the fresh water is consumed and polluted everyday. Hence, water shortage has become one of the most serious problems facing us today.
Water plays an important role in human society. For one thing, water is essential to all living creatures. Without water, there would be no life on this planet.
For another, the development of civilization relies on water. That is to say that water is fundamental in irrigation, power plants, industries, and so on. Furthermore, water provides perfect ecosystem. In short, we cannot live without water.
