我们都在学习翻译，但是究竟什么是翻译呢？
简单的说，翻译是把一种语言表达的信息准确流畅地转换成另一种语言的活动或行为。
所谓准确：不能曲解原文的意思。例如，不能把”I can swim”（我会游泳），翻译成“我不会游泳”。
所谓流畅：译文必须符合译入语的习惯，为译入语读者所接受。
接下来，我将分别为大家介绍最常用的八种翻译技巧，希望大家通过接下来八期的学习，能有所提高。

一．重译法（Repetition）
一般来说，重译法有如下三个作用：一是为了明确；二是为了强调；三是为了生动。
1．为了明确，有时候需要重复宾语。在英语中，一句话里两个动词共用一个宾语，宾语只在第二个动词之后出现一次。而在汉语中，这样的宾语要在每个动词后分别出现。
示例：
•.We have to analyze and solve problems.
试译：我们要分析问题，解决问题。

2．英语常用省略，但为了明确，也为了强调某些内容，在汉语中常常要将省去的部分重译出来。
示例1：
•.I have fulfilled my assigned work ahead of schedule, so has he.
试译：我已提前完成了交给我的工作，他也提前完成了交给他的工作。
示例2：
•.At that time many people could not read or write.
试译：当时，许多人不会读书，不会写字。

3．被定语从句修饰的名词有时在英译汉中要重复。
示例
•.We have advocated the principle of peaceful coexistence, which is now growing more and more popular among the nations of Asia and Africa.
试译：我们提倡和平共处的原则，这个原则目前在亚非各国越来越得人心了。

4．在汉译英中，汉语重复，英译往往也需重复。
示例
•.这种人闹什么东西呢？ 闹名誉，闹地位，闹出风头。
试译：What are they after? They are after name, after position, and they want to cut smart figures.

1．Let us revise our safety and sanitary regulations.
2．Ignorance is the mother of fear as well as of admiration.
3．The use of atomic weapons is a clear violation of international law — in particular
of the Geneva Convention.
4．他们忘记了少数服从多数，下级服从上级，局部服从全体，全党服从中央的民主集中
制。
5．但是我们还是有缺点，而且还是很大的缺点。
6．Scrooge went to bed again, and thought and thought and thought it over and
over.

1． 我们来修改安全规则和卫生规则吧。
2．无知是恐惧的根源，也是敬佩的根源。
3．使用原子武器显然违反了国际法，更违反了日内瓦公约。
4．The forget the democratic centralism with subordinates the minority to the majority, the lower level to the higher level, the part to the whole, and the whole Party to the Central Committee.
