形容词是语言词汇中最有用的词类之一,它们可以用来表达我们的喜怒哀乐。在上一期中我们向大家介绍了不少用来形容优秀、成功人士的甜言蜜语,相信大家从中受益匪浅。现在,让我们再来看看贬义词,学会如何批评和抱怨。
  [Kim‘s Note]In the last issue we gave you a list of lovely adjectives to flatter and praise everyone and everything. In this issue we are giving you just the opposite. These are negative adjectives that will be just as useful!
  
  1、angry: filled with anger
  发怒的;愤怒的
  * There is nothing worse than having to face an angry wife.
  (没有什么比不得不面对一个愤怒的妻子更糟糕了。)
  * I was angry with him for keeping me waiting so long.
  (他让我等了这么久,我真的生他的气了。)

  2、awful: very bad; dreadful
  很坏的;糟透的 来源:考
  * I‘m sorry to be so short-tempered but I have an awful headache.
  (我很抱歉脾气这么坏,但是我头疼得要命。)
  * The film was awful.
  (那部电影真是糟透了。)

  3、boring: not interesting in any way
  无趣的;无聊的 来源:考
  * There is no way I am sitting through another boring meeting.
  (要我再次坐着开这种无聊的会议绝不可能。)
  * He is about the most boring person I‘ve ever met.
  (他可能是我见过的最无趣的人了。)

  4、careless: not taking care; inattentive
  粗心的;疏忽的 来源:考
  * My son could get better grades if he wasn‘t so careless.
  (如果我儿子不是粗心的话,他可以得更高的分数。)
  * He‘s a very careless driver: he never thinks about what he’s doing.
  (他是一个粗心大意的驾驶员,从来也不考虑自己在做什么。)

  5、cunning: clever at deceiving people
  狡猾的;狡诈的;善于欺骗的
  * I don‘t trust your new secretary, she’s just too cunning.
  (我不信任你的新秘书,她太狡猾了。)
  * He‘s a cunning old fox.

  6、depressing: make one feel depressed
  令人忧愁的;令人沮丧的
  * I hated that movie. It was too depressing.
  (我讨厌那部电影,太令人沮丧了。)
  * It‘s a totally depressing thought.
  (这完全是个令人沮丧的主意。)

  7、gloomy: sad; depressed
  阴沉的;阴暗的;忧愁的;沮丧的 来源:考
  * I don‘t know why you stay in such a gloomy room all day when the weather is so beautiful.
  (我不明白天气这么好为什么你还呆在一个阴沉沉的房间里。)
  * What are you so gloomy about? Cheer up!
  (你为什么情绪这么低落?振作起来吧!)

  8、hopeless: showing or giving no hope; useless;
  没有希望的;令人绝望的; 没用的
  * I just have to give up on you. You‘re just hopeless.
  (我不得不放弃你了,你真是令人绝望。) 来源:考

  (要说服她是没有希望的。)
