10 Do
Do prepare for 1 to 3 months study and commit 2 to 3 hours per day.
Do use your Project management experience and lessons learnt.
Do concentrate on Situational questions. Imagine yourself in the condition.
Do understand the project management life cycle and PMBOK definitions.
Do more practice questions.
Do get used to the 4 hours exam. It can be exhausting!
Do participate in newsgroups, chapter meetings and study groups.
Do understand and remember the formulas. Write them down during the first 10 minutes.
Do take notes of the questions with the phrases like: BEST, LEAST, PRIMARY, UTLIMATE, LASTING, FIRST and LAST etc.
Do be careful that answers are all look correct! Choose the one that solve the problem with the least cost, least time, least efforts and with lasting solution.
10 Don’t
Don’t recommend memorizing the inputs/tools/outputs without understanding the flows and logics.
Don’t over-study! PMBOK, a few good reference guides are sufficient.
Don’t panic and focus too much on questions you are not sure. Keep moving!
Don’t leave any answers blank.
Don’t rush into the answer. Read answer from (d) to (a).
Don’t study at last minute! You will get even more panic.
Don’t use outdated practice questions and answers.
Don’t skip your meal before the exam.
Don’t under-estimate the exam. Prepared well before going ahead.
Don’t be tricked by the short questions, read them carefully!
