 ； 在新的移民法下，英语能力是如何评估的？是面试时决定吗？那要是面试取消呢？若没有雅思之类考试成绩，可以吗？我现在美国，有没有必要去准备雅思考试？

1. Language assessment is conducted based on the information and documentation provided by the applicant.

2. Language assessment can be conducted at the personal interview. However, if the interview is waived, this means the language assessment has already done and accepted at "paper screen".

3. Yes as IELTS is not the only proof of ones language abilities.

4. Not necessary at this moment as you are now living (studying or working) in an English speaking country。
