　　33. Television is one of the means by which these feelings are created and conveyed—and perhaps never before has it served so much to connect different peoples and nations as in the recent events in Europe.

　　fabric意为“织品，织物，布；结构”。The whole fabric of society was changed by the revolution.（整个社会结构都被这场革命改变了。）

　　identity意为“认同”，政治、社会、历史、文化等学科的同学应该都清楚这个概念。national identity（国家认同），identity crisis（认同危机），cultural identity（文化认同）。
