　　Telepathy（心灵感应） is the ability to communicate（交流） without the use of the five senses（sight, hearing, touch, smell, taste）．It is an instinct（本能）, and although quite dormant（潜伏的） in many of us, we are often capable of tapping into（激发） our latent abilities in times of emergency（紧急状况） or need．When we intuitively（直觉地） know that something is happening, or about to happen, our instinct has kicked in．

　　Telepathy can be either projective（投影的） or perceptive（感知的）, we either send or receive．If you know who is calling before you answer the ringing phone, you are probably a good receiver．If you think of a person, and they call you, you are most likely better at sending．

　　The more people spend time together, the more likely they are to be able to link up to the others mind, especially when separated．

　　心灵感应是不用五官感觉（the five senses）（视觉、听觉、触觉、嗅觉、味觉sight, hearing, touch, smell, taste）来进行交流的一种能力。它是我们许多人体内潜在的（quite dormant）一种本能（an instinct）。在紧急关头或是需要的时候, 我们常常都能激发出这种潜能。当我们凭直觉知道某些事情正在发生或即将发生时, 我们的本能就已发生作用了。

　　Kick（踢）这个字在俚语里头有许多不同的解释，它可以用来指刺激、兴奋、快感等，但在这里是指“突然降临”的意思。

　　口语中，人们所说的kick it，意思就是“放松身体”，比如下面这个人劝他的朋友多和两杯，就是这么说的：

　　Youre too stressed, man! Cmon, were here to kick it and have fun!
　　你太紧张了，老兄！拜托，我们是来这里放松和找乐子的！

　　心灵感应可以投射或感知,（either projective or perceptive） 也就是说我们或者发送或者接收它。（we either send or receive）如果你在接听一个打来的电话前, 就知道对方是谁, 那么你可能就是一个好的接收者。如果你正在想着某人, 然后他就给你打电话了, 那么你可能更擅长于发送感应。

　　人们在一起相处的时间越长, 他们的心灵相互间就越有可能产生共鸣, （the more likely they are to be able to link up to the others mind）尤其当他们分开的时候。

　　Link是环节、纽带的意思，网络上的链接用英文讲就是link.短语link up，就是“把……和……连接起来”的意思。比如：

　　We must link up theory with practice.
　　我们必须把理论和实践联系起来。

　　Either……or和or都表示“或者”的意思，可它们的用法有什么分别呢？

　　来看两个例子：

　　She will come either today or tomorrow.
　　她今天不来，明天也会来。

　　She will come today or tomorrow.
　　她今天或明天来。

　　其实，either…or和or的区别，主要在于语气强弱。前者强调“非此及彼”，后者仅有“或者”的意思。此外，either…or之后的语句应对称，也就是说，either之后用名词，or后面也用名词，either之后是从句，or后面也一样。所以，“他不是醉了，就是疯了”一句，就应说成He is either drunk or mad.而不是Either he is drunk or mad.

　　如果大家看明白了，就试着造一个句子吧。不如说“不是她就是你，要为发生的事受责难”，就是：

　　Either she or you are to be blamed for what has happened.
