　　threshold n.门槛；开端；界限
　　[例句] Scientists are now on the threshold of a better understanding of how the human brain works.
　　[译文] 科学家现在对人类大脑工作机制的研究已进入新的起点。
　　exemplify v.例示，是．．．．．．例证采集者退散
　　[例句] In this dictionary we often exemplify the use of a word.
　　[译文]在这本词典里我们经常举例说明词的用法。
　　perspective n.观点(的).远景(的).透视(的)
　　[例句] We must get/keep the problem in perspective.its not really that serious.
　　[译文] 我们必须对这个问题有个正确的认识.事情其实并不那么严重。
　　simultaneous adj.同时进行的
　　[例句] There was a flash of lightning and a simultaneous crash of thunder.
　　[译文] 一道闪电出现,同时响起了雷声。
　　bankbruptcy n.破产.无偿付能力
　　[例句] The company is threatened with bankruptcy.
　　[译文] 这家公司面临破产的威胁。
　　spectacular adj.壮观的.惊人的
　　[例句] The new play was a spectacular success.
　　[译文] 这出新戏获得巨大的成功。
　　rationalize v.使合理化.合理化改革
　　[例句] Were rationalizing the organization of the company to make it more efficient.

　　foster v.促进.养育
　　[例句] We hope these meetings will help foster friendly relations between our two countries.

　　（二）核心短语讲解
　　(1) excuse me对不起,打搅了。
　　当要打搅某人或进行询问之前使用该短语，相当于汉语中的“不好意思；打搅了，请原谅”。如：
　　Excuse me,Can you tell me how I can go to the nearest station?
　　对不起，你能告诉我去最近的车站怎么走吗？
　　(2) switch on 打开(电器)。
　　其相对的动词短语是switch off,即“关上(电器)”。表示这一组意思的还有turn on 和turn off。
　　(3).have got to 不得不,必须。
　　have got to 相当于have to。如：Its so late.I am afraid Ive got to leave. 天已经很晚了，我恐怕必须得离开。
　　(4) I wonder...我想知道；我很好奇；我对．．．．．．很惊讶。来源：考试大
　　用于询问或表示感叹。如：Ｉam wondering if I am finish it by myself.我想知道自己是否能独自完成。
　　(5) get on with ones work继续某人的工作。get on with还表示“与某人相处得如何”。get on well with/get along well with 表示“与某人相处得很好”。如：Do you get on well with your boss?你同老板相处得好吗？
　　(6) so-called 所说的，无谓的。如：He is the so-called artist.他就是所谓的艺术家。
　　(7) make some mistakes犯错误。注意：mistake一词为可数名词，与之意思想近的还有fault,error。如：
　　 He has made a serious mistake. 他犯了一个严重的错误。
　　(8) make sure 确定，搞清楚。如：I think I locked the door,but Ill just go back and make sure of it.我想我是锁了门，但我是 回去查看一下吧。
　　(9) keep in touch保持接触，保持联系。如：I tried to keep in touch with my high schol friends.我尽是与高中时代的朋友保 持联络。
　　(10) on the other hand另一方面百考试题论坛
　　通常用在on the one hand之后，表示“一方面．．．．．．；另一方面．．．．．．”。如：I know this job of mine isnt well paid,but on the other hand I dont have to work long hours.我知道这份工作报酬不高，但从另一方面来说，我也不必工作太长时间。
