　　Shanghai General Motors Company says it is recalling almost a quarter-million cars to repair faulty fuel lines that can cause the vehicles to stop working or catch fire.
　　The company is a joint venture between General Motors, the United States largest auto company, and Shanghai Automotive Industrial Corporation.
　　It said Monday it is recalling more than 133,000 2-liter and 2.4-liter Regal sedans and almost 100,000 2.4-liter LaCrosse sedans. All of the cars were manufactured before October 14 last year.
　　The company said the fuel lines can break under extreme conditions, causing the engines to malfunction. It said there is also a danger of oil leaks, which could cause fires.
