1.　[关键词]加热――heat；不管是否――(no matter) whether… or not
　　[连 接]heat与其逻辑主语substance之间需采用被动连接，即heat加ed。
　　[优 化]whether (it is) heated or not. ――注意，it is可省略。
　　[点 评]如果heated or not放在句首，whether也可以省略
以上是第五期的例题，观察了大家的答案，大家都大部分都会选用heat，但是却忘记了被动语态！看来使用被动语态方面还是比较薄弱。

2.考察only于句首的半倒装用法，几对并列连词如not only…but also, hardly… when等连接两个并列句, 连词 在句首, 前句半倒装, 后句不倒装:
Not only was everything he had taker away from him, but also his German citizenship was taken away.

3.compare with 与…相比，很多沪友用了compare to，注意了这个短语多指比喻。
compare a with b 把a和b做比较
compare a to b 把a比作b

4.half as 形容词原级 as表示“……的一半”。 显然本句在拿 as…as… 结构做文章。因为是比较关系，把在 Leeds 和在 London 的费用做比较，所以后半句有明确的 “as” 一词。空缺部分是要有 “as”, 还要有 “half” 和 “money” 。关键是次序如何调理。根据比较结构中的倍数原则，倍数数字放在最开始，接下去有关于量的 as much n. as, 因此本句要填入 “half as much money”。

5.ascribe 和 attribute 差别不大,都可以解释为"(中性)把...归因于,(褒义)把...归功于,(贬义)把...归咎于",也可以解释为"把...归属于,认为...归属于...",基本可以互换。
