　　上回说到：美丽的公主却要嫁给丑陋的怪物，忽然一阵微风把她送到了漂亮的宫殿，原来她的丈夫是个温柔体贴的男子，可是这个男子是谁？禁不住好奇心的趋势，公主趁他熟睡时拿起了身旁的灯，啊，原来是爱神丘比特！

　　Psyche was so surprised that she 0dropped（掉下，掉落） the light. The noise woke Cupid. He was very unhappy with Psyche and flew away.

　　神仙就是和凡人不一样，连离开都是用飞的，哦，我忘了丘比特是有翅膀的嘛！

　　Psyche looked for Cupid everywhere and finally found him with his mother, Venus（维纳斯）, the goddess（女神） of beauty. Venus wanted to see if Psyche was worthy of Cupids love, so she gave her several difficult things to do. But Psyche was so beautiful that many animals came to help her. Finally she was told to bring back a box from the Underworld（冥界）. This time, Psyche was helped by a voice. It warned（警告） her not to open the box.

　　这个世界就是不公平，长的漂亮办事就容易。不过，Psyche的执著还是很让人感动的，不是吗？历经了无数苦难，Psyche终于完成了这个“不可能的任务”，可是这个盒子里到底装了什么不能打开呢？好奇心一向很强的Psyche公主这一次会不会乖乖听话呢？

　　Psyche wondered（想知道） what was inside the box. When she opened it, she began to die. Jupiter（朱庇特）, the King of gods, saved Psyche and turned her into a goddess. He told Psyche that, from then on, she would never have to leave Cupids side again.

　　还记得上节课我们讲过的so…that 句型吗？如果你还记得这是英语中用来表达程度和结果的常用句型，常翻译成“如此……以致于”、“那样……以致（因而）”，那么，这节课的好几个句子你就能自己理解了。

　　Psyche was so surprised that she 0dropped the light.意思就是：Psyche吓了一跳，把手上的灯都摔掉了。

　　But Psyche was so beautiful that many animals came to help her.意思就是：可是Psyche实在太美了，许多动物都主动来帮她。

　　现在，你也可以试试自己造个这样的句子，比如看完这个故事，你也许会有这样的感觉：The myth was so romantic that I cant help fell in love with Psyche/Cupid. 这个神话太浪漫了，我忍不住爱上了Psyche/Cupid.（呵呵，这下男生女生都满意了吧！）

　　好，现在来看看这节课的重点内容：

　　灯掉在地上，“啪”的一声，这种声音我们把它叫做noise，意为“响声、噪音”，而后面警告Psyche的声音就是voice，“声音”是个中性词，感觉出它们的区别了吗？

　　你试过深夜被人吵醒吗？设想一下Cupid看到这副情景的心情，难怪他会不高兴，be unhappy with sb就表达了他这时的心情。（这里也可以用about代替with，如：The residents of the area are unhappy about the noise.该地区的居民对这吵闹声很是不满。）神仙不高兴了，就flew away了。Flew是fly的过去式，加上副词away（表示“离开”），就是飞走的意思，如果是我们一般人当然要用脚走，那就是walk away了。

　　To look for是“寻找”的意思，要注意它和to find out的差别，前者更强调找的过程，但结果不确定，比如：She is looking for her lost child.她正在寻找失踪的孩子。（找没找到不知道。）而She found out her child was sleeping under the bed.他发现原来孩子正睡在床底下。（强调找到的结果。）理解了这些，这句话的意思你就应该明白了：Psyche looked for Cupid everywhere and finally found him with his mother, Venus, the goddess of beauty. Psyche到处寻找，最后在他的妈妈——美神维纳斯那里找到了他。
