英文: Saudi Basic Industries in talks with China cos on potential investments Saudi Basic Industries Corp (SABIC) is in talks with companies in China over potential investments in the mainland, Fahad Al-Swailem vice-president of the company s polyolefins unit, said in a South China Morning Post report.
The company hopes to form alliances or co-invest with potential mainland partners on manufacturing as part of its strategy to tap the China market.
"We are talking to a number of parties in China and we are optimistic that something will be happening in this area in the future," Al-Swailem said.
He declined to give details but added some of the potential partners include major Chinese petrochemical firms.
SABIC is interested in setting up a manufacturing presence in China for its ethylene, polyethylene and polypropylene products.
Sabic is the world s third largest polyethylene producer and fourth-largest polypropylene maker
