　　1. He is a hard nut to crack! 他很难对付！

　　在这个句子里面，nut这个词的本意是坚果，但其实还有其他几个意思。

　　1）比如在以前我们学习过fan这个词，表示追求者，movie fan就是影迷。而这里的nut也有同样的意思，比如说：

　　Shes such a film nut that when a new movie comes out, she would dash to see it.

　　她是个电影迷,以至于每当新电影出来的时候，他都要先睹为快。of course, here the phrase @to dash to do sth.@ means hurry to do sth. 这里的to dash to do,当然就是急忙去做某事。

　　2）now lets come back to the sentence again. 让我们回头来看这个句子。a hard nut to crack means a person who is hard to deal with.这里的a hard nut to crack 意思是很难劈开的坚果，引申之后意思就是很难对付的一个人。比如有这样一个句子：
