A positive result indicates that more employers plan to increase rather than decrease staffing levels. a negative result reflects the opposite. 净就业前景指数可以通过用那些打算招聘员工的雇主数量减去那些打算裁员的雇主数量计算出来。如果结果为正数，说明更多的雇主打算增加雇员数量而非裁员；如果结果是负数，则为相反。 显然，净就业前景指数越高，就是越发positive employment outlook（积极的就业前景）；相反则是gloomy employment outlook（就业前景黯淡）。
